Community Outreach
In keeping with its mission, Rainbow Tribe, The Dance Company is involved with an array of charitable organizations and educational outreach programs in New England. As Rainbow Tribe believes the art of dance is a tool to educate people, Tribe utilizes its unique collection of seasoned dancers, instructors and choreographers of different cultures, ages and backgrounds to serve as good role models for children and young adults interested in pursuing a professional, or even a casual interest in dance. In addition, Rainbow Tribe supports local charities such as the American Cancer Society and Project Bread.

D.A.R.E® America:
Rainbow Tribe maintains a strong partnership with D.A.R.E (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) both in education and community relations. In November 2002, D.A.R.E.® America selected Rainbow Tribe to be the Massachusetts-based dance company for its D.A.R.E Dance Program, a curriculum in the metro Boston schools that targets upper elementary and middle school students. D.A.R.E Dance showcases a positive alternative to drugs and violence through the fun, healthy and expressive art form of dance. Today, Rainbow Tribe runs after-school D.A.R.E.® Dance Programs in Jamaica Plain, Dorchester, Cambridge, and Quincy.

“Rainbow Tribe consistently and successfully nurtures future artists, audiences and citizens. This will help to build a brighter future to anyone who is touched by the Tribe.”
~Marshall Hughes, Director of Visual, Performing, and Media Arts at Roxbury Community College.
